A place of true community significance

When Wellingtonians have a need to come together, they choose to do it at the Basin Reserve.

This iconic ground is more than just the home of Cricket Wellington and occasionally the BLACKCAPS and WHITEFERNS – it’s a place of true community significance for all Wellingtonians that is a great option for your next business or social event.

Affectionately known as ‘The Basin’, this centrally located facility offers two hireable venue spaces in the RA Vance stand, with capacity for up to 200 standing and 150 seated theatre style.

Off-street carparking is available, and the rooms come with the latest audio visual technology integrated as well as high-speed WiFi.

The Longroom

When domestic and international cricket stars aren’t enjoying the Basin Reserve’s ‘Longroom’ on match days, its available for hire as a versatile space for meetings, seminars or celebrations.

With floor-to-ceiling windows along its entire length that provide a great view on to the Basin’s playing area, The Longroom offers something unique and special whether you’re a sports fan or just interested in place of local significance.

The Longroom has a built-in bar area, has been recently refurbished and can be dressed beautifully for lunches or dinner seating up to 140.

This ground floor room offers disabled access, comes fully air-conditioned and has high-speed WiFi.

The Norwood Room

The Norwood Room is one of the few meeting rooms to house a grand honours board showcasing some of the all-time greats in the history of cricket. As a venue for hire, its another versatile space for meetings, seminars or celebrations of up to 200 people, and boasts fantastic views of the Basin Reserve’s playing area.

207 m2 in size, its high ceilings add to the feeling of spaciousness making it ideal for corporate events and celebrations of most types.

The Norwood Room is located opposite the Longroom and can be split into two smaller spaces for breakout meetings. This ground floor room offers disabled access, comes fully air-conditioned and has high-speed WiFi.
